Heyyy,

Is it normal for a 13 year old to have really heavy periods, cause when i stand up its like a waterfall and i need the toilet quite alot and i normally feel dead during the day. and i spend around 10 mins in the toilet each time.

am i too young to stop my period with birth control pills or should i wait until im a little older?

if so, how old should i be until i consider it?

thanks x

bby_gal06 agony aunthiya its nothing to worry about i experienced this problem at your age and i told my carer about my problem and she took me to the doctors and i got the pill at the age of 13 but only to control my periods not because i was having sex.

if you tell your mum she will understand that you have a problem with your periods and i advise that you dont be shy and go to the doctors but if your not confident about talking to the doctor i am sure that your parent or carer will talk for you.

honestly this is normal all you need is the pill x

Lemonpixie agony auntIf your going trhough more than 5 pads a day, you should go to the doctor. Or if you have bigger than quarter sized clots you may have Menorrhagia. It occurs in a lot of women so dont think its a scary unknown thing but its important you get it checked out because it can lead to a lot of problems. YOu also may have polyps in your uterus, or fibroids... I know all these things sound scary but they are all very treatable. But talk toyour mom or parental guardian about the heavy period, and get yourself to a doctor or OBGYN asap

I wouldn't consider stopping your period with the pill, that's definitely not healthy, but you should definitely go to the doctor to make sure everything is ok. When you're young your period can be sort of funny anyways, but it's important to make sure you're ok. The doctor may suggest the pill, but only to make your period regular and lighter. A friend of mine lost a lot of blood during adnormal periods and she ended up in the hospital and she has been on the pill ever since. I think most women would agree that you should go to the doctor, and don't be afraid to be very honest, doctors have heard it all and worse. Make sure you tell her everything that she needs to know and answer all her questions honestly.
