Candie is verified as being by the original poster of the questionOkay, thing is i do suspect having it and for some time maybe. Yes i am going to see a doctor in a day. Its just that i would really love to have babies one day and was worried that if i test positive for this thing then my chances of having babies are just zero. I'l discuss it all with my doctor though. Thanks you guys.

Get treated now. No need for you to spread that to others.
It varies on the strain and I guess the person as to how long. The sooner you get treated the better.

It sounds like you want to get Chlamydia and that you want to be infertile! If so there are much safer ways to do this - if you dont ever want children then go to your doctor and say that you want to be sterilised (some people call this getting your "tubes tied".)
If you really are just concerned about Chlamydia then get an STD test at your doctors! It is a simple test that doesnt take long, and results come back pretty fast too. Treatment is also fairly simple and non-invasive, so you have no reason not to get it sorted!
As the other answers have said, Chlamydia works differently in each individual infected with the disease. It isnt a nice disease to have - eventually it can cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), Cervicitis, Ectopic Pregnancies (babies developing in the fallopian tubes) and Barttholinitis. So while at first it doesnt have any symptoms and this stage can last quite a while (this is also when it is most easily treated), you will eventually develop complications which can be very serious for your health.
If you think you have Chlamydia then you need to get it treated! And if you are thinking of trying to catch it so you become infertile, then that is just very silly and there are much better ways to go about it!

Chlamydia can cause infertility or difficulties in conceiving which is different from saying that chlamydia always causes infertility. Therefore there isn't a time limit in which to get treated to prevent this, and any effect on their fertility needs to be assessed on a case by case basis. If anyone is concerned that they may have caught it then they should get it checked out as soon as possible, and treatment is very simple with antibiotics if they have got it.

From what I know it's different from person to person. But judging by the progression of the disease (and no medical experience) it takes a while. Honestly though, treatment is a round of antibiotics. One could go to their local clinic and get these for little or no cost in most places. Even small towns have free STD clinics, your local health department should have a list, where you should get yearly tests for everything they offer. So there's not really any reason to wait long if someone suspects they may have any disease. Oh, and if someone has told you that they had Chlamydia so they're infertile and don't need to use a condom don't believe them.
