A female reader, Jadzia1127 United States +, writes (27 October 2006):

Jadzia1127 agony aunt I assume what your referring to is what some couples play with. They hold out on penetration of the vagina for a month or more with only other play and this does allow the kegel muscle to tighten (when you sneeze, when you need to use the bathroom, or with special exercises) without being stretched with sex.

This allows your kegel muscle to tighten and allows your vagina to tighten up. After having a baby women are told not to have sex for a long time and many experience this tightening of the kegel muscle unless the muscle was damaged in the birthing process. The kegel muscle is a wonderful thing to keep strong and your partner will never want to stray if you know how to work it.

Yet as for a vagina closing up, that is impossible even before having sex. A vagina can handle a penis, to the head of a newborn baby.

Jenny Wren agony auntNo it isn't true. Unfortunately there are a lot of myths about sex and it is easy to be misinformed - the best thing to do is to ask questions of people who will give you an honest answer (which you're doing), and read as much as you can about sex (leaflets, books, posters etc). There's usually sex education material in the library, at the doctor's, with the school nurse (if your school has one), and it is meant to be just picked up without you having to ask anyone. You ask "What does that really mean?" - do you mean "heal up" or "vagina"? Either way, I think you need to be well informed about sex if you're going to doing it, even if not for a while.

Oh dear!

Dont listen to any silly nonesense like that. It seems to me that you might be very young, maybe to young to have had sex?!!.

If you really were old enough to have sex you would be aware that that is just a silly playground taunt that kids say because they dont have any idea about sex!.

Be careful!.
