If female nudity was not commercially exploited, would there be more cheating?

Here's one for the guys...and women if you want to comment too!....

If there were no such thing as media, porn, dirty magazines, playboy, Hooters restaurants, or any exploitation of sexual suggestion, etc., if strip clubs were never invented, and female nudity in general was just never available for the public eye....would there be more cheating?

Would you have to get your fix by getting with another female, possibly going to her home or a hotel to see her body? Even if you were married or were in a relationship? Because otherwise, your only choice would be to see your former girlfriend/wife naked. Thoughts?

I just think you would save a lot of money, and there would be less depressed wives and girlfriends in this world.

Twirly agony auntI dont think it would make a difference really, if people want to cheat they are going to cheat.

Im a bit confused about your last sentence though, as you seem to say that without all these things there would be more cheating, but then say there'd be less depressed wives and girlfriends in the world.

Im not sure why more cheating would make wives and girlfriends less depressed!

Laura1318 agony auntI would agree that if we go back and live in the primitive

society where you don't have all those sexual temptations ,

then there won't be much cheating.

It is not easy to fight temptations.

Even very strong and powerful men succumbed to it.

No matter how strong your love is , some day you will be

weak when you allow those temptations into your life.

Can you sustain your love on high till you die?

BigSis agony auntI'm inclined to agree with the Salad Barbarian on this one.

Two people who genuinely love each other and have that trust, and that special bond, would never cheat ~ whether there is sexual exploitation or not.

There are men and women out there who can be offered it on a plate and right in front of their eyes, but will refuse to be tempted, because in their hearts they have that love and respect for their partner's, and to me ~ that is the true meaning of love.

A reader, anonymous, writes (11 May 2008):

I think that the same men and women who cheat now would cheat under those circumstances as well. It's not a matter of what is out in the world but what is in a person's heart. When two people are truly in love it wouldn't matter who was around them or what they were wearing neither would cheat. Even in a world the complete opposite of the one you envision with nudity everywhere, where you would have to pay to get non-porn channels, and male and female prostitutes only cost a few cents I doubt people would cheat more than they already do.

In short it's corruption of the heart that leads to cheating not the amount of sex exploitation.
