If a person cuts class is it consider as a felony, crime, academic misconduct, or behavior misconduct? Could a cut be cleared and erased? Will this go on my permanent record? I really don't want this on my permanent record. I cutted class only once which was teacher's aid like helping a teacher correct tests, and put things away. I am really worried, and I shouldn't have cutted this class in the first place. I just wanted to go do my homework. By cutting class will this affect my college admission to private universities? I never knew that cutting a class could lead to many problems.

It very much depends on the local laws where you live.

Talk to a teacher or school career advisor and they will be able to explain it all to you.

Good Luck!! xx

It depends on your school. I never cut class in high school, but I knew it was an automatic in-school suspension if one did (not sure if there was more to it as well). Also, teachers could fail you on any quiz, exam, homework, classwork, etc. that went on during the class you skipped.

Cutting class in college is more relaxed, though still not a good idea.

i skipped school for 3 days in a row one time in my junior year of high school and got busted when my principal called home to check on me and unfortunately my mom was at home on lunch break! i got detention for it, but it never affected my record as far as i know of. it definitely didn't affect my getting into college. usually i think if you get caught cutting class, you may get punished by the teacher and get detention or something. i am for sure its not a crime or felony, although you might consider it a behavior misconduct or academic misconduct. i hope this helps.

Danielepew agony auntI don't know what would happen in the US. Here, you would be responsible only before the school's authorities, who, fortunately, can't impose any legal penalties on you.

In other words, it wouldn't be such a big deal.

SirenaBlusera agony auntI cutted class only once

It's CUT class, dear.

I'm not trying to be mean but you have to know proper grammar, and you CAN learn!

This is the reason that you shouldn't be skipping class.

The good news: They've stopped taking people out and shooting them with a firing squad for cutting class.

Now for the bad news: Yes, colleges are going to look at your grades and SAT scores.

Can you go to your guidance counselor and tell them you don't have enough time to do your homework and ask them if you can take study hall instead of teacher's aid class? I don't understand why teacher's aid would be mandatory, or even offered as an elective. It doesn't seem like you learn much in that class unless it's vocational training to be a teacher.
