So far it's a good way to get to know each other, however, I would really like to get flirty (as this has not happened yet) but am unsure how to start it off. I don't want to go in too smutty as he may not like this just a gentle tease at first...any suggestions?

Why not start with some 'nice' questions, like what he likes about you the most, what would be his dream date with you etc. I'd start with 10 questions along those lines & then writing the answers should make him horny & he'll probably be bold & start asking you some more flirtatious questions & then you can respond in kind.
