So after thinking im over my ex. I find out he;s having a bday party today and remembering the fact that he insisted we be friends and telling me beforehand that whenever he;s having a bday gig that id be openly invited and that he wanted to see me very soon.

It just killed me. We were together for a really longtime and this hurt, even though whats troubling me is that i wouldnt have gone in the first place.

I dont know what i did wrong ..meh.

any ideas?

Gridrebel agony auntSometimes when people are breaking up, a “dis-er” might promise the “dis-ee” things in order to soften the blow. Also, things change. He may have his eye on someone and doesn’t want to feel guilty or inhibited by your presence. For whatever reason he thought it best not to invite you, go ahead and take it personally. Rarely do breakups actually remain friends. So, go hang out with someone you really like and who really likes you...like a good friend, your parents, siblings etc. You need some hugs!

I'm sad to say he's your ex, so he probably would have been uncomfortable with you there to be honest. It's nothing personal at all. He's just moving on with his life, and you need to do the same.

You didn't do anything wrong! Maybe he just felt that you wouldn't be comfortable going, that you'd say no anyway, maybe he invited another girl and didn't want there to be drama...who knows. But it's not because you're an awful person and did something wrong; he just wanted to enjoy his birthday without having to worry if his ex girlfriend was having a good time.

No worried though, I'm sure many other girls (including me) would probably feel the same way. But I don't think you should take it personally...he is your ex.
