My boyfriend and I during that week had sex , without a condom , but he withdrew , we typically do this and there's never been any issues.I'm now on my pill free week , about 4 days in and have not had a period yet.Is this okay? In my pill information booklet it said that skipping a period can be common place , is this true?

Well how much later were you taking the pill last week? Generally the medical advice in the UK is that if you take the pill within 12 hours of your usual time to take it then you are fine and completely covered. But if it was over 12 hours later then you could be pregnant so it is worth keeping that in mind.
As for it being 4 days and no period - I have been on the pill since I was 16 and my period generally comes 5 days after taking my last pill, but everyone is different, some people even get their period on their 7th pill free day! So dont worry when it comes, 4 days is not quite long enough to decide that you have missed a period. So just wait a bit longer, I bet it will come over the next few days.
Yes you can miss a period whilst on the pill and not be pregnant, but I would not say this is normal. If you have irregular periods anyway then missing a period would be normal - but if you are regular then all of a sudden you should not miss a period without there being something wrong.
If, when you start taking your pill again, you have still not had your period then make an appointment to see the doctor. There are a whole host of reasons why you could miss a period - pregnancy, being underweight, stress, hormone problems etc. You will need to see a doctor to get to the bottom of it.
But for now - try not to worry, I'm sure you are not pregnant. Getting worried about a late period often delays the period further as the stress of worrying makes it even later! So forget about it, relax and get on with your day to day routine then hopefull within the next couple of days it will arrive.
I hope this helps and good luck!

If you took the pill within 24 hours of the last pill you should be perfectly fine. If your missed your period I believe it would be of other reasons than pregnancy.
But you never know, some get pregnant even when on a birth control pill. Sex is never 100% safe that way, but it's as good as.
Wait a few more days, then take a pregnancy test. If you continue to miss your period go see your doctor about it as it could be an indication of some other problem.
