I say go for it! If he gave you his number...drop him a line even just to say hi :)

People will disrespect you until the day you die and it merely reflects their own insecurities and shortcomings.
I can't imagine why you shouldn't text him regardless of how you got his number. Just say hello or something. I personally would find it flattering. It might not do any good if there was no initial attraction but it certainly wouldn't turn me off if I liked what I saw when we met.

I think it is too soon to text him after you have only met him once. You should put your interest on hold until you know more about him. There will be more opportunities to meet again in your group.
If you don't see him again , it means that your destiny is on a different path.

Presumably he has given you his phone number. If he hasn't and you got his number from someone else then don't text him. If he gave you his number then he must like you a little bit. Just send him a message saying hi, how are you? and see what happens. Don't declare undying love/lust just yet as you may spook him.

Definately text him, you get along next thing you need to find out is if you can get along some more.. There's nothing wrong with that.

Why would anyone make fun? Text him and see what he says, and who cares about anyone else.
