I want to ask someone, but am afraid of sounding creepy. Would girls find it an insult, even arty girls? Is there any way of asking them, making it clear there is nothing sexual about it? If you are at an art school then if their is no nudity then it's not real art....why are people scared of the naked body especially in an art school.

I think she showed some interest herself, so I think it depends a lot on the people in question. However, I don't think it is "creepy" to ask someone you know. THere just has to be a very tactful way to do it, and you should know them well so they are comfortable.

Go to an art class for life drawing, check around your school for a life drawing class (or even just online to see if there's one in your area). It's very creepy to just ask someone to model for you. I've asked very very close female friends to model nude for me, but I'm female so it was less uncomfortable and it was photography so now sitting still. People are usually paid to model nude as well since it is fairly tiring.

Just go to a proper art class; there are plenty around with professional models. Why does it have to be someone you know?

If it's nothing sexual why do you prefer it to be someone you know?

Go to a genuine art class, where nudes are scheduled for studio time.
Do not ask a friend. THAT is creepy.
Keep it professional.
I had the chance a few years ago to be part of a nude studio time. It was a great experience.
Best Wishes.

Hey, well maybe it isnt a good idea to ask someone you know and maybe go to a live nude painting session, as i am sure if you go to your local art college or wherever they should be able to arrange for you to go to one. I don't think many girls would be offended but most of them would be too insecure to drop their clothes for a friend and let them paint them, even artsy ones. If you want to ask your friend maybe ask some subtler qeustions before you ask her will you let me paint you. Ask her what she thinks about art then get into talking about what you both think about drawing someone naked. If you get a positive reaction then ask her if she ever would pose naked to be painted (include just for art purposes) if she says yes or maybe says no, but show signs of being talked round to the idea then ask her. ( Also if you say that you would be a model to be painted naked it might make it easier for her to say yes as she won't feel different). Best of luck x
