writes: Hi there! I'm asking my crush out for a date (she's 18) and could really use some help... I'm 19 but I haven't had much experience with dating. I was a loner in highschool and I had really poor social skills, but over the past year I've made a lot of progress and I'm actually somewhat outgoing now. Any help is greatly appreciated! So I work with my crush on the weekends and I've been wanting to ask her out for a while now. I asked her friend about it and she said I should ask her out for coffee, and recommended a coffee/dessert shop downtown. The thing is, I'm not sure what day/time to ask her out for... The weekend would be difficult because we get sporadic 8-hour shifts and we both go to school so it can't be too late if it's during the week. This is because she is kinda nerdy (in an awesome way!) and she doesn't seem like the type to stay up really late, haha. So this brings me to my next problem... I don't have a car. She'd have to get a ride downtown, unless my parents gave us a ride and that sounds like a bad idea. And how long would the date last? Do you just set a time to meet up and just stay till whenever, or hangout afterwards too? Thanks for reading and if you have any advice I'd love to hear it!

If you have money, you could always get a taxi... or meet up somewhere and take the bus together?
When you two go out - you'll just have to figure that one out yourself. Look at your schedules and find mutual time off. Do you go to the same school? Are there any cafés on campus?
As for how long the date would last, go for the latter - just set up a time to meet and stay 'til whenever! For a first date, I suggest not letting the date go until you are completely bored with each other and have nothing else to say - use your judgement.
Don't worry too much, don't overthink too much, just carve out some time and enjoy the day! Good luck, sweet!
