i was at my friends house with my other friend.. lily. we got bored so lily said why dont we cut her fringe.. so we did. and it looked really good axualy...but then she said 'can you even it off,' so i did, and now it looks BLOODY AWFUL!

we kept on telling her it looked good though, so that she wasn't feeling so bad. her mum picked her up from our friends house and she had a PROPPER go! and is now not alowed out and her mum is fuming, and she hates her hair, and now hates me.... but is it really my fault? i mean, i know im the ony person that axually cut her hair, but shes the one that told me to even out the fringe? :/ what do i say or do to make this better? i dont want their family to hate me. :/ x

CindyCares agony auntRelax, it's not so terrible. Once I sort of scalped my then boyfriend... he married me anyway :)

If you could offer, though, to pay for a visit to a hair salon that could help her fix your botched job, that would be a nice gesture. Technically, you don't have to- she asked you, fully knowing you are not a hair stylist- but I am sure it would smooth things faster .

Anonymous 123 agony auntI know you're probably completely freaking outright now, but its really not that bad a problem. So you cut her hair....but she allowed you to do it!! What you can do is, suggest that she might go to a beauty salon and get a professional repair job done.

Relax!! Its not permanent, its going to grow back really soon. And if her family is sensible, they will understand without you having to go all out and apologize. These things happen. You will both look back on this some day and have a good laugh about it!!

cupidus agony auntRelax everyone, you didn't cut her leg off.

Hair grows back.

She allowed you to cut it, caveat emptor my friend.

You could cut your own hair as terribly awful and say

"If you look bad so do I"

Now that would be saying huge about the friendship.

HUGE..

But if you can't do it. Say you're sorry and bake a cake for her parents, give your GF a bag of her hair for her diary to eventually laugh about in the future.

All is well, Hair today gone tomorrow, back next month.
