I hugged my Mum and thanked her for being so supportive of me during some really difficult times at work. As I hugged her, her hand slowly got lower and lower and she clutched my buttock and jiggled it. I jumped back and said 'what did you do that for? That was abit disturbing' and she simply laughed it off saying she was tired. She's never done anything like that before but it felt really weird. When she laughed, she almost sounded drunk but I know she hadn't had any drinks. I don't know whether I am just being a bit sensitive because of what I have been through at work, but it felt really inappropriate.

She probably just wanted to joke around and make you laugh to take your mind off things. I wouldnt put too much worry into it. If she ever does something like that again, just sit her down and tell her you dont appreciate that and you find it to be really innapropriate. Even if she just sees it as a joke, its not fair to you if you dont feel right.

She may have a drinking problem that you are not aware of, start checking around...look for some evidence if she won't admit it. Or just brush it off as a weird moment.

And, if she does it again, tell her that you're uncomfortable with her doing that. But, I guess she doesn't based on your reaction to her the first time she did it.

And you're talking about the woman that used to wash your butt when you were a little baby, right? Unless she does it again, just ignore it. Even if she did take advantage of grabbing a younger man's (who happens to be her son)butt in a tired stupor, forgive it this time. It's not an act of incest in and of itself. I'm not saying that it is right, or isn't or shouldn't be disturbing, but give her the benefit of the doubt, it could've been something as innocent as wanting to hold you like a little baby again.
