hey,

I met this girl on holiday in august (i'm 16 she's 15) and we really got on well, just as mates. I got her email address and we've been sending each other the odd message. The problem is that i can't stop thinking about her, and even though i haven't said anything about it, I think I love her. We live 100 miles apart so a proper relationship would be hard. What should i do?

SamuraiRick agony auntHey, hey:

Distance is a big problem, especially when you don't have easy transportation. For now you should keep things at an even keel and keep writing to her, email and chat with her talk to her on the phone. We live in the computer age and there’s no excuse for not keeping in touch even with big distances. Eventually when you can drive and get your own car you can go to her and see more of her. But really how well do you know her to declare your love to her? She might freak out if you say that to her. Just say you like her and want to stay friends with her... obviously you want more than that, but in this case you have to be patient and wait for your time to be together in the future. In the meantime don’t shackle yourself. Get out and talk to other girls near you. If your love for "miss 100 miles away" is true, dating other girls won’t hurt you. In fact it could give you better social skills for when you can have a real relationship with her. You're still young and have a lot of life ahead of you.

melodaea agony auntDo what my boyfriend did 18 months ago. He lived about 100 miles away, and the day after we told each other via MSN we loved one another and it was mutual, he surprised me in my home town where I was performing at a concert. There and then, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We're still together today despite now being 250 miles away, but we're still going stronger than ever.

In short, bite the bullet and tell her. :)
