A age 41-50, anonymous writes:

i have had a hard time getting pregnent. i have had many misscariages and an ectopic which caused me to lose a tube. when i was pregnent i had to get hormonal injection shots in my butt every day and even then i lost the baby. i have never made it pregnant farther than about 2 weeks except when i was younger and i dont really remember all the symptoms too well. the doctor thought that maybe i kept losing them cause i was doing so many different types of drugs. like every day since i was 13. i am now 30 and have been clean from drugs now for 3 months. anyway.

my fiance has also been clean from drugs now for 3 months and we have unprotected sex every night. well, 5 days ago i noticed that my breast are really sore and my lower back aches. and i seem to be a lot more hungry than usual. i am not late for my period yet. it is due in about a week and i know that sometimes my breast are sore about a week before my period but this time they seem to be unusually sore.

i dont seem to have any other symptoms and cant really afford a pregnency test at the moment so i am hoping some of you might have some ideas. do i sound like i might be pregnent? what other symptoms should i be looking for?and any suggestions if i am pregnent what i can do to try and keep this one alive? my clock is ticking and i dont want to lose another child. thanks everyone

Tisha-1 agony auntYou didn't identify your country of origin, but I think this link has some good advice on prenatal care.

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/pregnancy-4250.htm

This link also provides a service locator on the right hand side of the page. If you are in the US and need to find free or low cost health care, you just type in your zip code and it will show you the nearby clinics.

Congratulations on your 3 month mark! That's a real accomplishment and I hope you continue this excellent progress.

LazyGuy agony auntOh dear.

If you can't even afford a pregnancy test then the next bit of advice might be impossible.

The best chance of keeping the pregnancy is life as healthy as possible. Fruits, vegetables a well balanced diet. No drugs, no smoking, no alcohol. Ideally you should stop these LONG before the pregnancy because withdrawal symptoms are bad for a pregnancy as well.

Don't mistake healthy food for going nuts, just the regular normal diet, do not become some kind of health nut overnight because the shock would do far more damage then junk food itself. Just make sure that fruit and vegetables are from now on a daily part of your intake.

But really, for the best advice for your situation you need to see a doctor. He will for instance have a diet list with food you need right now if you are pregnant.

If you are not pregnant right now, it will still be a good idea to eat healthy from now on for when you do become pregnant in the future.

Aeval agony auntIts a huge change to your body and your life being pregnant. May I suggest waiting until you at least hit the 1 year mark for being clean?

Give your body time to recover and heal from all the damage that the drugs have done to it and just try not to stress. It will happen for you, you just need to give it time.

Good luck
