writes:My best friend, an artist, is extremely caring and sensitive about me. Goes out f his way to help me, hangs around with me, gives me the sincerest advice, never refuses me, whenever i want to meet up...he never refuses, even if busy...likes to share his work with me, i'm the first he shows it to (after his dad), knows my moods more than i do myself, calms me down best, and respects me more than anybody else....now his dad is constantly asking him to get married...and he seems excited, and keeps updating me on everything...i am really confused...sometimes i feel he's throwing me hints...and sometimes i fell he's totally aloof...but all that changes the second i sound upset on a text message...and he immediately takes me out to talk...i can't help loving him...please tell me what to do I also want to mention...that i am his ONLy female friend he is so close to...I want to tell him...but I don't cuz i fear losing the friendship...:(...so i want to just make him "realise" it instead of shocking him by saying/asking to his face

 Stay out of contact for a while see what happens. I would not ask him, just do the old "give him the gift of missing you". He is not stupid if he wanted more, or realised in your absence he wants more 'you will know'. Relax lean back.

 Yeah there's no nonchalant way to make a guy "realize" he's in love with you. You don't know if he likes you in that way. I get your friendship as being strictly platonic. Now, if you want more, or think there may be a chance at more..well then your friends who can tell each other everything so you're going to have to take that chance and tell him. If he doesn't harbor the same feelings, then your friendship may be awkward for a bit but after a while it will get back to normal.
