Hang on, what do you mean they say it is nothing? Have you had your thyroid checked? It is a blood test and I would insist on a CT scan, x-ray or ultrasound...for goodness sakes, why are you accepting this response? It might be a cyst or a glandular issue but get to the bottom of it. It annoys the hell of me when people like doctors who are trusted unconditionally shoo people away..this is not acceptable, find out what it is.

I should know....I saw my own lumps that were not there a few times too! I had many panics about what illness I might have, all catastrophic of course, but it was simply depression/anxiety. Up was down, the ground was like a mattress under my feet. I also know that you can leave this way behind you (mine has been gone 6 years) but you need some time and a psychologist who specialises in this type of thing, to help you sort out your thoughts and why it is happening. IF this is what you have and I say IF, what helped me more than anything was a course of antidepressants. As soon as they started to work I saw life as the old me. Then I came off them after three months because I understood what had happened to me, I saw the difference and believed/realised I had actually been ill. The other thing that helped massively was cognitive behavioural therapy, which I recommend you find out about. I have spilled some beans anonymously for you and I hope they help.

Lots of people have one side of the neck that is more curved than the other, it is due to how you hold your head, how the muscles and tendons develop and work. Some people have a line that goes from where the ear lobe joins the cheek, downwards. There is nothing wrong or abnormal about it. You can get some advice on posture if you want. If you are depressed say so to the doctor, because it is quite common to obsess about small things and magnify them in that situation. Hypochondriacs, you may know, spend hours in front of the mirror with their mouth open and see all sorts of things lurking in there that don't really exist. None of us can know your reality so get a second opinion or take an honest look at your state of happiness and see the doctor if you are anxious or depressed. Good luck.

It could be early signs of lymphoma. I know people who have gone to the doctor many times and had it go unnoticed. Give it a week or two, and if it's still there, and it gets worse, go back to the doctor, and scream your head off until they understand.
