 Hi,if you really want to meet this guy you should do at a public place so that it is safer then to meet at his house.Just think about what you are doing and make sure you know this guy really well before meeting him in a private place.

You are legally an adult and therefore can date whoever you want too, though to be fair on your mum she is looking out for you.
Though i would not go to this mans house if all you have done is text him.
Meet him at a resturant or coffee shop before going his house as that is too dangerous to do without knowing him.

You are 18 and legally an adult. While your mum may not approve, it is ultimatly your decision. However, being 20 myself and a generally untrusting person, I wouldn't go to this guy's house on my own after a week of texting him, I'd meet him for coffee or out for a drink and see what happens. You can never be too careful and you want to be sure this guy is a nice guy and not just after one thing.
