Question - (5 March 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 5 March 2011)
A male Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I feel so left out: I stay home pretty much every weekend, I'm 17 and don't go out on a Saturday night for example. I get on well with most people (both guys and girls) and they seem to like me, but I just don't seem to get invited out or have the confidence to do this with others, even from school (this is the same with girls), as I'm unsure exactly where I belong. I feel like I'm stuck at home all the time and use Facebook as a means to stay in touch socially from the comfort of home. I know I can change this, I'm just looking for ways of how to do it. I just don't want to get to the end of school and it to be like this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey,

I totally get what you mean. I'm much the same. What I did was simply butting in when I overheard classmates of mine making plans. "That sounds like fun, can I tag along?" is pretty much all you need. Only an a-hole says no after that.

Try to initiate things by yourself. Ask your friends/acquaintances what they're going to do in the weekend and if you can come along. So instead of waiting to be invited, invite people yourself!
