A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Me and my boyfriend have been going out now for 9 months. We love each other dearly and we have sex. Things though, have changed since we started to go out, and i have recently told him that i need to have a say in things, as that is what he wants as for 9 months he has been in control and i just go along with the flow, but his friends have told me i need to be in more control. Wich i am up for. What do i do though? As he keeps on letting me down, and this weekend, he has done it 4 times and he has let me down several other times aswell. I rang him last night and said 'If you think i am one of those girls who you can just pick and choose when to be with then think again' and he took it as a joke and said 'okay then were do you want to meet, meet me now' but i was being seriouse. I want to sort it out and not leave him is there any thing to help?

I suggest you sit down and talk to your boyfriend, explain to him how you feel and make it very clear what you are unhappy about. I almost want to suggest that you set certain boundaries of what is acceptable and what not.

Good luck!

jay12toes agony auntyou need to tell him that if he agrees to do something with you then he is obligated to do that, and then if he dousnt know whether or not he can do that thing with you then he needs to not agree to do it. once he says yes then its a date and your too good to be stood up.

im sorry to say though that part of it is your fault for waiting so long to take charge. but that dousnt mean its too late your in this relationship also so it need to be half and half, a give and take.
