Those are my main issue.Yes right now I do not get any periods nor have I ever and Im 22 years old but Im hoping with losing weight that I'll get some kind of cycle going.Ive booked my appointment for the doctors which is in just under a month. But what I want is someone who I can email back and forth (not on a daily basis as I dont have access to internet daily but almost daily) for motivation and support.I want someone to help me, help push me when I feel the urge to just comfort eat (which is what I do and clearly Im making myself worse)I need to build up some self-esteem, get confidence, lose weight and maybe then I can get on great terms with my boyfriend too.Im obsessed that he stares at other girls who are pretty and thin and fantasizes over girls in magazines and on tv because im so insecure with myself. and truth being i wish i looked like those girls so im going to do something about it.Anyone willing to try help me, push me, motivate me? anything?

Maybe not much help, but I lost 38 pounds by eliminating soda pop and walking a mile or more every other day. Also felt better.

i have been there done that ... exact same problems . now i eat the things i like only small portions i dont deprive myself of anything i like . i have lost 67 pds since this time last year i still am at 220 so a lil more to go but some one told me to start looking in the mirror every morning and find the things you really love about yourself or even just like . start from head to toe only one thing a day and in the mean time start working on the things you want to change . but dont forget to tell yourself how beautiful you are befor you leave the mirror . as silly as this all sounds it works amazingly for the self esteem . focus on the things you like the most about yourself . as for the hair thing ... it sucks i do know this but there are products that do help hide and get rid of it temp. till the next time you need to use it . its a pain but dont let it slow you down . us girls that have to struggle to feel pretty understand and appreciate the ones who notice us . you can do this !!! head up girl im sure you are a beautiful person you just need yourself to see it . good luck !!!

There are loads of online resources for people who need motivation. Here's one place to start looking: http://www.nhs.uk/LiveWell/Loseweight/Pages/Loseweighthome.aspx Your national health service provides a great deal of information and resources for wellness, why not use some of them? There are many links on that page which appear very helpful.
Spend time looking on that website each day. There are many commercial programs out there with counselors available. Weight Watchers is a very popular program here in the US, I don't know if it's available there.
I lost over 40 lbs by doing this: first, eating less (sustainable change); then getting walking buddies and walking 3 times a week, rain or shine, then adding yoga and finally weight training. It was critical that I found out what portion sizes actually looked like, modern society has decreed that more is better, at least in the US and what I thought was a serving of pasta was actually SIX servings of pasta. BIG difference. Buy a food scale and use it until you can visually estimate accurately.
I think the weight training is really good for me now; as we age, we lose muscle mass. The more muscle tone you have, the more calories you burn. It's a win-win situation. Plus clothes look much better and you can wear sleeveless tops and shorts and look great.
Get rid of ALL bad-for-you food in your house. ALL of it. No sugary drinks, no bad snacks. Get it all out. If you feel the need to eat, have ready-made healthy snack options and try this for the next week. Eat EVERYTHING with your non-dominant hand. If you are right-handed, eat only with your left hand. This will make you mindful of the choices you are making and will slow you down.
If you have a smartphone, there are apps like Lose It! that can help motivate you.
I know Cerberus is a self-driven man who doesn't need group approval or support to help him through his workout. What he may not recognize is that in many people, the social support is crucial to the success of the program. So that's why I am telling you to find workout/fitness buddies and/or sign up in a mentoring type weight control program. Once you get over the initial start up phase, you'll find motivation comes from within, for now, do the buddy system.
Look for that buddy system in that link I found for you or float it out there to your friends and see what they come up with. There are many health boards and diet programs that offer online and in person support meetings. Choose the one that speaks to you. The more people you involve in a positive manner in your transformation, the more support you will find offered to you. If you don't ask for it, no one knows you need it.
Good luck on starting your personal journey of transformation. It is so worth it.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 August 2012): OP we very much discourage and don't really allow people to give out emails on this site but maybe someone might do this for you through the PM system.
To be honest though I think you may be better served joining a couple of slimmers forums or health websites.
OP to be honest with you, you need to motivate yourself. You have enough to reasons to be motivated you just have to get up off your arse and do it really.
I've been working out and stuff for the past three years, simply because I didn't like how unfit and fat I was. So I just worked out and ate a little bit better and that was it.
It's not rocket science and frankly if you think someone else can motivate when you can't then you're going to be too reliant on another persons time and effort to do something which you need to do for yourself.
The best advice I can give you, is to buy a skipping rope in a sports store and as long as your doctor says it's okay for you to work out, just do 30 minutes skipping every second day. You will be very stop start in the beginning, your legs will be tired but just keep doing it for 30 minutes, it doesn't matter if you need to take a break for a minute or two after each burst your heart will still be pumping and you can walk around until you can go again. After about 3 weeks skipping will be second nature and you'll already see some improvement and feel it too.
If you have your own apartment get rid of all the junk, make saturday the only day you eat any form of junk as you're allowed a cheat day. If it's not in your house you won't go to eat it. Get rid of all fizzy drink and only drink juices, milk and water, for snacks have a bowl of cereal, a couple of slices of toast, a piece of fruit etc and just pay attention to the calorie numbers on food and eat 1800 a day.
There's nothing to it, no discipline needed, you just do it. Whatever you do don't do a diet, pardon my language but I don't give a fuck what people swear by, ask them how many diets they've been on and tried. Just eat healthy and right portions and don't pay any attention to fad diets of other people.
OP it took me 6 months to completely tone another 3 become ripped and for about two years that's how I've remained. I don't worry about what I eat, I don't count calories anymore, I work out merely for the fun of it now once or twice a week and I live a very normal regular life and don't stress anything about weight, or fitness at all.
