Ok here goes - occasionally we will hang out but not that often and when we do he doesnt talk much but when we do talk it's sooo fun and we get along really well. I'm also mates with his best friend and i get along with all his friends, but i like him so much i want to ask him out but if he isnt interested then things will get quite awkward between me and his friends and most of all him, what can i do to show him how i feel plz help x

You need to get to know him a lot more first. Hang out with him more and see if you still like him, and try speaking to him so you can understand him a little more as well. That way, you;ll have a better idea of how he feels.

As for letting him know, there's no other way to find out than ask him face to face. We men don't really do hints, we need it clear, or it all becomes confusing.

But before that, try to get to know him more to see what he's like.
