A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Helloo there.

I am aware that what i am going to say might sound like an average teenage girl but it is realy staring to get to me.

I am 15, soon to be 16. I am 5ft 5ish and weigh 9st (126 lb) I know this might not seem a problem to some people but it is slowly starting to become a big issue to me as i use to be a lot skinnier and i am not use to the excess skin.(

It is becoming a big problem with me and my boyfriend to as i dont eat in the day and just have one meal and he doesnt like what i am doing and i generally dont feel as comfortable as i use to and i am constantly checking calories and if its to much i wont eat it.

I do netball 3 times a week and try to do sit ups every night, i am cutting down on food to one meal but i am still not loosing weight.

I have been bulemic before and i dont plan on going back to that! Has anyone got any suggestions to help me boost my self esteem?

Many replies as possible please, thanks xxx

You don't need to lose an ounce! 126 for your height is just fine if not even a little thin! Talk to your parents about this, as it seems like you have an unrealistic idea about what your body should look like. This can lead to eating disorders that can make you sick. You parents can help you or maybe take you to a doctor who can make sure that you're eating correctly. One meal a day is not enough for anyone, and definitely not for a teenager whose body is still developing and needs all the right nutrients.

Keep in mind Im not a teenage girl, but Id love to help. I think the first thing you should do is tell yourself well done. Diet change and exersize routines are hard to start and stick to, so well done sis! Stick to it, and maybe eat several small meals, high in protien. Protien builds muscle and muscles burn fat. And always be sure to do this for yourself not for anyone else. Set realistic milestone and keep a journal of achievements, so you see improvements. You're doing great though, keep up a positive atitude and all your great work!

be happy with yourself! Because things could be so much worse!

Don't go back to the eating disorders.

You don't want to lose your boyfriend who cares about you over a few pounds!

Moviefan agony auntDon't worry about it, your boyfriend doesn't seem to mind if he is getting frustrated with you not eating normally.

Also a lot of guys like a little substance to to girls. Yeah its ok to be skinny, but 126 pounds isn't something to worry about. You probably under weight or right around normal weight for your height. Stop worrying about it and accept it and your boyfriend will still continue to like you. He might even like you more, self esteem can be a real turn on.

Good Luck, your fine.
