I would have told this boy my feelings, but I'm like a daughter to him. I even call him, "dad." He doesn't live around us, so it's complicated. I really, really love him. And I want to be with him, but I can't hurt my friend. What should I do?

How old is this guy ?? If he is literally old enough for you to call him "dad " , then it's a very good thing you did not get to be with him ! How old your friend is ?....
What can you do now ? Alas, I think just leave it as it is and learn from experience.
They say "everything is fair in love and war " , I do not completely agree but then again if your friend did not know you had a crush on this guy she did not do anything wrong in pursuing her interest.
Next time you like a guy, ..act faster and most of all do not play matchmaker for a friend if you like the boy yourself - nobody is gonna give you a medal for your unselfishness.
Now, do not interfere, first of all you would be breaking
girls code, and second, it would be useless , since you say that anyway this guy, taken or not, has no romantic feelings for you.
Don't worry, there's plenty of fish in the sea, but please next time choose a young fish around your age OK ?
