Well, the problem is her best friend (Also a girl) likes me. I'm rather unsure how to tackle this problem, seeing I've been in the same rock and hard place spot before and I failed spectacularly, by not wasting any efforts to attract the girl, completely oblivious about the "friend" problem. Of course, she never really did anything about my feelings, firstly because of her best friend, then later on, because of my persistence. So, this time, I'm taking a slower approach, to the point where I asked her out, she accepted, but some family matters on her side popped up, so the said date didn't materialize. Now I'm keeping a friendly atmosphere with her or trying to, but in short, I'm just biding my time, until I figure out the best course of action.

Any suggestions?

Is the friend actually trying to sabotage you and this girl? That's the only way it would be a real problem.
