A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

I already asked this question, but i would really like more clear answers and not in general answers. I am a straight female however when i see and talk with one friend(female) i seem to be attracted to her. Shes really pretty and has a fun personality, and we have similar interests. I have a boyfriend but she doesn't. I love my boyfriend but why is it that i want to be with her? As in... be near her.. hug her.. kiss her.. etc. Someone before said to try to tell her that i have a general attraction to females but i feel that would make things awkward just for me. How am i going to tell her that? When she knows i have a boyfriend. Oh and sometimes i see her kinda checking me out... or is it just me? I don't know if shes bi but i doubt it.

OhGetReal agony auntWhat is confusing is trying to label your affection for a same sex friend as sexual due to the relaxing mores in our culture and the illusion of choice in sexual identity....stick with who you are not who you think you might be.

OhGetReal agony auntYour hormones all over the place does not confuse your sexual identity or preferences...it simply makes you feel things more intensely and the desire sometimes outweighs rational thought if you aren't careful, with someone you are sexually intimate with.

I don't agree that if you were gay or bi you would know it without question because at your age your hormones are all over the place.

You may well be attracted to both sexes, and if you are then that's fine. If these urges to be with this girl are that strong then i don't think you should be with your boyfriend right now.

You sound very confused and if anything did happen with this girl your boyfriend i'm sure would be heart broken. It's time to take a step back and consider what you want. It might be best to be own your own for a while until you are a bit more clear about everything.

OhGetReal agony auntWell I think it is a very confusing world for teens who are developing their sexual identity. First off you are nit bi sexual. You have a clear preference for men. It is very normal for teens to experience very strong feelings ol like love admiration even attraction for same sex friends in that you feel excitement when you are in her company. Doesn't mean that is a feeling that is an expression of your sexuality. Kissing her is pretty weird and I think kiss today are pretty screwed up by the early sexualization of children especially girls in our society. Doesn't mean you act on that confusion.

All teenagers check each other out you are totally sel absorbed creatures due to your raging hormones and developing brains and personality. Doesn't mean you are gay or bi. If you were you would know it without a question.
