A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I have been friends with this guy for almost a year, recently he made it quite clearly that he wants to be with me, but when I asked him to hang out, he said no and told me there is not a chance for us to be together although he is physically attracted to me. Two weeks later, he told me that he met someone who is special and also said he is interested in me. I am completely confused. I like him, What should I do?

Drew21 agony auntThis guy sounds like he wants to have his cake and eat it to.

When you say he said he "wants to be with you", do you mean he wants to sleep with you? That's kind of the vibe i get from that sentence. He is physically attracted to you, but otherwise doesn't find you that interesting.

Do you really want to be used simply for sex?

This guy seems like he's playing games. I would tell him that he has to choose, you or this other person.

Heck, i probably wouldn't even be that nice about it. I would tell him he had his shot, and you don't play games and he should take a hike.
