From that day on he would tease and act mean to me. But than the kid who told his friend that I liked him told me he acts mean to me because he is shy and he really likes me. And when no one is around the kid I like who makes fun of me smiles and says hello Michael. So I am wondering if there is a possibility that he likes me or is the kid who said he likes me just busting my chops

At what point does this game stop do you think???? Why not invite him to have a coffee and a chat with you and see if you get on face to face. Take control and stop leaving someone else to cause chaos!!

I think your friend may be right. Kids get teased for admitting their liking a girl. They act mean around their friends, because they don't want to be teased. When he's not around his friends, he doesn't have to be cautious about his behaviors around his friends. It takes boys a while before they come to terms with it being OK to like people of the opposite sex.
