writes: the guy i'm seeing (not yet official) was in love with my friend. they dated for a bit but were aslo never official. he told me in april that he loved her but he was trying to get over her. in may me and him kissed and told each other we liked each other.although i'm not sure if he still likes her. i've mentioned it to him he said he doesn't and that i overthink things (which i do) but he has said a couple of things that left me wondering.once my friend text me, i mentioned it to him and he was all 'oh why does she never text me?!?!' which i thought was a bit oddthen more importantly today, for some reason he was in a bit of a mood with me, so i let him get on with it.. we sat in silence for half an hour but then my friend came in, he talked a bit more, looked at her more than he looked at me, laughed at nearly everything she said and when she said about going because things were awkward with me and him, he said 'no don't go'. i left to go to the toilet, i came back and he was happily chatting away. i sat down and he was silent.should i just give up? do you think i'm just going to get hurt and i should leave it? i really like him :( and i know he DOES like me, i just don't know if it's enough :(

Rule one you should never date a friends ex! To be totally honest with you it sounds like he is using you to get close to your friend. If you two got together you would always be paranoid about him and your friend, also if your friend changed her mind and wanted him back he would drop you in a flash. Sorry that's harsh but it is also true. Get rid, move on you are better than that.
