writes:Hi im 23yrs old and have just stopped my pill on the 3rd last day of my period, i want to have a baby... i want to know how long it should take for me to get pregnant.?Also i fell pregnant about a yr and half ago but had it aborted,... i also smoke marajuna daily but will stop when i find out im pregnant does any of this decrease my chances of getting pregnant faster?...please help? thankyou!

 Doctors advise that it can take up to 6 months for the pill to be totally out of your system, so you should expect for the first 6 months for not a lot to happen, and then if something does happen it will be a nice surprise. As for after those 6 months, you should be able to fall pregnant relatively easily at your age - but if you are still having problems with getting pregnant after 1 year then go to your doctor.
However smoking marijuana will decrease your chances of getting pregnant - so if you want a baby stop NOW, not when you are pregnant. Read this http://www.estronaut.com/a/pregnancy_with_marijuana.htm
This excerpt from the article should make it clear why you need to stop now
"Women who smoke marijuana have increased risk of abnormalities in ovulation and therefore more infertility. This risk is enhanced when the use is within one year before attempting conception. This risk did not change with frequency or length of use. So, that means that even occasional use of small amounts of marijuana can decrease women's fertility."
And same goes for men (assuming that your partner will probably smoke too) "In men, marijuana decreases testosterone, sperm count, and potency."
So if you really want a child you need to stop doing silly childish things like smoking marijuana, grow up and put your health first in order to make sure your baby is healthy too. Smoking weed is just pointless, it is something teenagers do when they are bored and have nothing better to do. When you have a child you cannot be smoking ANYTHING around the child, let alone drugs, so best to stop now before you do any further damage to your body.
So be patient for the first 6 months while the pill gets out of your system, and use this time so stop smoking marijuana and improve the health of your reproductive system.

stop smoking weed, if your trying to concieve and because the average pregnancy test doesn't tell you if your pregnant until your at least two weeks, so you'll still be smoking it if your pregnant before you know, thats bad.
my friend smoked weed and her baby came out with a condition called club foot, she feels guilty as hell.
two i'd wait a few more months because the pill kinda messes with your hormones etc and your body has to get back into it's own rythem.
and go to the doctor, he/she is the best person to ask.
