Im 20 and My partner and i have been together for about 2 years and everything has been great, Although i have been through alot with him he was there for me hen my friend passed away and recently when my friend was murdered.

Suddenly i feel like i need to get away, not from him but just for a holiday, as i am just finshing a degreein Tourism management and international affairs.

Alot of my friends asked what i was going to do about him, if i was going to break it off ( Or hook up while im over in Europe and not let him know ), i had no intention of doing so until he didnt support my decision to go at all. If i hook up with other people would it be considered as cheating?

A female reader, Aunt Audrey United Kingdom +, writes (18 May 2006):

Aunt Audrey agony auntIf you are planning on going away with the possibility of "hooking up" with someone else whilst you are away, then do the decent thing and finish with your boyfriend before you go. If you were to meet someone else while away and ended up sleeping with them, should you still be in a relationship with your b/f at home of course he would consider it to be cheating, wouldn't you if the boot was on the other foot? As for doing that and not telling him, that's a bit decietful don't you think, would you like to be treated that way?

If your b/f has not supported your decision to go abroad without him it maybe that he fears you will meet someone else while your away and he will lose you.

Talk to him and tell him why you feel the need to get away, assure him (if you intend to) that you will remain faithfull and that this is something you need to do for yourself, hopefully you will win him round to your way of thinking. If he can't accept your need to get away then maybe you would be better off apart so you are free to do as you please while away, you won't have anyone to answer to for your actions and nothing to feel guilty about.

Good luck, and have a good trip!
