I'm 16 and have been going out with a guy for just over a year. We have never actually had sex, but he has lay on top of me when both our trousers have been off (underwear still on) and it is a possibility that wet could of touched wet and I hear this can lead to pregnancy sometimes. We also have done other things with hands , if you know what I mean.

I'm worried as my period is a few days late ( although they are quite irregular ) and I have some symptons such as indigestion and getting the cold when I only had it about a month ago.

I'm really worried as I really don't want to be pregnant.

Help would be appreciated alot, thanks.

bobbles32 agony auntYou're not pregnant. If you are, you're one in a million, congratulations. I wouldn't waste money on a pregnancy test, if you sit back and relax and keep your mind off it then I bet you that it will come. If you're not ready for a child then be more responsible. You know when semen enters the vagina and no kind of hormonal birth control is used then you can get pregnant, so use protection.

love-x-him agony auntHey,,

Theres a very low chance of pregnancy, especially as there was no actual intercourse, however if semen was on your partners hands/fingers then this could have come into contact with you.

You should take a pregnancy test and if neg wait 2 days and continue this for about a week and a half, if still no luck, go to the doctor as they will do a free test.

I hope i helped :) x

I think pregnancy is highly unlikely in this instance, and the cause of your period being late is more than likely stress, worrying that you might be pregnant. Vicious circle.

If you're going to be engaging in this sort of activity it won't be long before pink bits are touching pink bits in a big way without the underwear. Play safe, get yourself on the pill unless you want to completely balls-up your life and his, and tell him to get himself off to the chemists or Brook Advisory Service for a stock of condoms. AND make sure he uses them when the time comes. The belt-and-braces approach is not a bad way of going about things.

StudentOfLife agony auntStress can sometime create an irregularity with periods. I really doubt that the symptoms you describe are because you are pregnant.

When I'm sick, I sometime try to look online to find my disease and it makes me feel like I have all of them. It's just due to stress in my case though.

I suggest you still wait a week or two for your periods to come if you're due to have them. I really doubt that you got pregnant by doing what you describe, you can always take a pregnancy test if it could help you get rid of that stress.

A reader, anonymous, writes (6 August 2009):

I think it would be unlikely that you are pregnant.

But as always, if you are concerned then it would be best to see your doctor or nurse, or do a pregnancy test, as nobody here can say for sure whether you are or aren't.

You say you have done things with your hands. If you touch him, and then touch yourself, there is a risk of pregnancy if there is any semen on your fingers. And vice-versa, if he touches himself, and then touches you down there, there is a risk of pregnancy, by passing semen on via the hands. This is a small chance, but just wanted to say that it can happen.

So to be on the safe side, it's probably best to do a test, or see the doctor/nurse. x
