Well you're very lucky. I'm almost 44 and am unemployed. After 21 years in a factory, they shut down and now I'm unemployed. I too would like to make a change. My problem is I already have other committments, wife, kids, mortgage etc. Although many people say I can do whatever I choose, that's not exactky true. My choice could greatly impact the lives of my family and our standard of living. I used to make almost $30 per hour. I would like to earn that again. But, if a great job came along at $15 per hour, do I take it? I could probably survive but things would change.
You're young and still have time on your side. Put in the lean years now and try to figure out what you like. Do it why you're still single and only worried about yourself. There is nothing better than enjoying your work. Even if it doesn't pay the highest salary, if your're happy, you'll be content and build your life around tht level of income.

You're obviously a big expert on travel now after spending a year doing it. Why not look for jobs in travel agencies? Most travel advisors have to have travelled to two continents outside their own and it can be a great career.... plus you get 60% discount to go on holiday every year!! Sounds perfect from what you've told us about yourself!! Hope this helps.

Throughout high school, I was just being tossed from grade to grade, without the vision and passion to do anything. Until my last year in HS, I realized that I had a talent in creative non-linear thinking. Since then, I've worked myself up in the position of a creative designer of sorts.
One thing about design is that it can be split up into many different levels. You can travel the world and freelance yourself to various individuals and organizations until you find your own unique set of creative tools. That's when you settle down in a specific field or company and work your magic.
Sometimes, I wish I can put down all of my obligations and go for the things I really want to do. A friend and I had talked about backpacking through Japan, China, and so on staying here and there, working temporare jobs, and eventually making it back home. Mind you, this is only if I have an established income.
The thing is Ms. Anon, you said your interest is travelling. Ever thought of working on a cruiseship? I had a couple of friends who had the chance to work on a cruiseship for a year, sailing from Vancouver to Alaska to Hawaii, etc. Good money, good benefits, and have the chance to see lots and meets lots of different types of people.
