A female Australia, anonymous writes:

Hi, over the last 8 months or so, almost every night - and I mean like 5 to 6 nights a week - I have nightmares. They always change every night; it can be of someone trying to kill me one night, to someone breaking into my house the next. I even had a dream of catching my bf cheating on me.

Sometimes I will have multiple nightmares in one night. I always wake up feeling so tired, even though I have slept for 7 to 9 hours.

Ii'm not on any medications or anything and nothing traumatic has happened in my life over the last 8 months.

Does anyone know about nightmares and why people have them? And is it normal to have so many nightmares during the week? Does anyone know how to stop them from occuring so often? I'm just so desprate for answers as I have not had a good night's sleep in months.

I have the same thing happening to me. I have nightmares it seems like every night, more than once per night. The dreams that I have are extremely disturbing, I have noticed their is blood in almost all of them and someone dies. I am not sure what this means, and no I'm not on any medication although I am starting to think I should be. I dont know how to make them stop.

midgetgem agony auntHi,

I have complete sympathy! I have had bad nightmares since I was a child. You wouldn't happen to be a migraine sufferer would you Migraine sufferers tend to have the most realistic dreams and also tend to dream in full technicolour!

I listen to Enya before I go to sleep it really helps. If you can find the music that helps you relax and listen to it before bed it may help.

hi auntie clare, the night mares have become less, i was able to get my hands on a relaxation cd and i find that helps me to have a longer and more deeper sleep with no memories of any nightmares, instead of having night mares every night i hardly have any at all now and im finding alot more refreshed when i wake in the mornings.

I had nightmares for 2 months straight i made my own method of waken up and not being scared. when i was having the nightmare I would look for something that would catch my eye in the real world and just concentrate on that in the dream and poof id wake up.
