I find myself working for 12 hours but really getting 3 hours' worth of work done. As a result I have no time to do anything else. I'm just staring at walls most the time. I want to be a lot more efficient and use my time better but am finding it so hard to just sit down and do it! Any suggestions are appreciated. thanks x Reply to this Question Share |

I sometimes have your problems; I'm a law student and do find motivating myself hard sometimes. I always have a timetable when I'm revising and a diary the rest of the time so I don't forget to do anything. I always try to stick to them and don't put anything off, it's a slippery slope. I also make sure I do things I enjoy each day to break up the work and so what I do get done is more efficient. It seems to me you are stalling. Is this because you don't know what to do or you just can't be bothered? If it is the former, you need to find out and that will motivate you more.
But my best advice to you is: you have to want it enough. I work with people everyday that just trundle along with their lives, doing the bare minumum and scraping through but I can't stand that. Once you're in the state of mind where this is the most important thing you want to achieve and it means everything to you, it will just happen, you'll want to do the work. I promise you, it's so rewarding.
Good luck

Hey there anon..
I am finding your question a bit difficult to answer though I will say that if you have any close friends at hand then give them a call...
Although from reading through your script I would suggest that something is kinda holding you back, maybe you are not happy in your employment, or the likes..
Even small things like this can cause big erruptions and eventually the individual begins to loose interest in social cirlces and other arrangements aswell as exercise or motivation..
I would advise you to look at your daily structure and see (from your point of view) if you are happy with it..
Maybe there are some changes you could make to have release and start agin.. It is never too late..
Let me know how you get on
Good Luck
Jacqueline
