writes: Just a quick question so i know what to expect...Im going to see my GP next week, i made the appointment because i think ive got a problem down there.What i want to know is, is he going to examine me or is this not part of his job? He will ask you a few questions and first determine if it is something he can handle within his area of expertise. If he feels it is something beyond the scope of his practice, then he will refer you to a gynocologist. Doc

He might do the exam. It's not usual to be sent from one doctor to another for an exam, unless it's like xrays or something they can't do in the office.
