I have had these for a number of months...and had never even been near anyone else sexually when they started to appear.I spoke to my mate who says its pretty normal for stuff like this to happen, but usually they arent that big. Mine are the size of spots you'd normally get on your face etc.Anything to worry about? I don't want to go to a doctor unless I really have to...but with they just clear up like facial spots?

This doesn't sound like an STD and if you'd had no sexual contact, it won't be. What are these spots like; do they itch, are they weeping, do they burn, are they red or white? If these spots are small, not weeping and white, then they are perfectly normal and not a health problem at all and occur with many men, on their scrotum and their penis. You have nothing to worry about if this is the case. Otherwise, if they are red, painful or inflamed, it could be caused by inflamed hair follicles, caused by friction, or perhaps an allergic reaction to a change of washing detergent; especially if these spots are itchy. You might have developed eczema. It might be some sort of fungal problem. The best thing for you is to go to your doctor and ask him to have a look; don't be embarassed, remember he sees this sort of thing all the time. He may prescribe you a cream such as hydrocortizone or an antibiotic he thinks will help, or he may refer you to a dermatologist. I doubt your condition is serious but I do recommend seeing the doc, to get rid of it and set your mind at ease. Until then, try not to scratch, be gentle when you're washing the area and use mild soap.
