writes: alright so me and my now ex boyfriend had sex between the day i was most fertile and ovulation and the day that i was just fertile since then ive been showing early signs of pregnancy..i got my period but it was a day early and wasnt a real period it was heavy for a day and now its just like spotting...what does all of this mean?

You need to take a pregnancy test to be sure. Periods can change when under stress. And like Emivia said, it is possible to get your period while you're pregnant, although it's not counted as a "real" period. It's fairly rare, but there has been women that didn't know they're pregnant until they were giving birth because they were still getting periods and weren't showing any signs. So if you think you might be, get a test.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2010): In responce to Yuridesu's answer, you can have a period when you're pregnant. This obviously isn't the way your body normally acts around this time of month, but stress could cause this, especially if you've been anxious about perhaps being pregnant.
Take a test and find out for sure. It's the only way to really know.
