Got to keep the business and the pleasure separate. I would be embarrassed too. If there's no policy against dating a co-worker then you're in the clear..however if there is then start looking for another job. Regardless, I would go into the manager's office with your work mate the next day and apologize for your actions, don't disclose any details of the relationship that's your business, that you promise to keep it strictly professional when on the clock, and that this won't happen again. The biggest concern of the manager's would be that this relationship would be affecting you and your work mate's performance. He will appreciate the apology and most likely keep an eye on you both. So keep a professional attitude at work.

There are no laws against dating a co-worker.
About 30% of couples met through work.
The issues are:
1-issues of power. Does one person have authority over the other? THAT could be trouble
2-did you do it on company time? Were you on break? After hours? Was it on company property? If you were on company time THAT will likely be the biggest issue
3-is one of you a minor under the law?
4-could sexual harassment be an issue? That is something that makes many companies have strict rules about relationships between co-workers. In some companies, employees that want to date must report it to the HR department for such reasons.
5-conflicts of interest. What if one of you gets fired? What if one of you gets into a fight with another co-worker? Will either of you take sides?
At most, you will get a slap on the wrist. Be careful of anything they have you sign that would end up in your employment record.
At worst, you would get fired, but that is unlikely, unless there is a huge risk to the company (for example, if one of you is cheating on a spouse, the company could have an issue if there is a record that the admin knew about it)

It depends on your company policies. Some companies allow employee relationships, some don't. If they allow it, your manager can't really do anything about it.
I hope that helps.
