We were both eachothers first, and we've been having sex for about 8 monthsFor the past month or so, I've been getting a painful burning sensation when we have sex, or right after we finish. Its really obnoxious on my end, and its starting to hold me back from enjoying the sex we have.It sometimes happens when he first penetrates me, and lasts through the first mintue or two through sex. Other times it will hurt right after he finishes. I'm on the pill so he usually finishes inside of me, but I don't know if that makes a difference. It stings/burns just around the opening of my vagina, nothing internal. I've had UTIs before, but it doesn't hurt when I pee or anything, just when were having sex.Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing this? I'm probably going to be making a doctors appointment soon, but if there's any home remedies that would be great.

I had that before and I do not have any stds. It turned out that I was allergic to his sperm which is possible and do not worry you cannot die from this. Another thing too is many of the times it could be the lack of lubrication or you have a yeast infection. Either way, if you have questions regarding pain in your body do not rely on internet answers, always ask your doctor.Good Luck!

A woman shouldn't have ‘burning’ during intercourse. So, clearly something is wrong. I doubt if it is 'serious' in the sense of 'very dangerous to your health'.
But it must be diagnosed and treated. Possibilities include:
- thrush
- trichomonas - another common vaginal infection
- allergy
- vulvodynia – condition which causes pain in the outer part of the female genitals
There are plenty of other possible causes but obviously you need to get an expert medical check-up now.

Also, if there's not enough lubrication it can be quite sore afterwards.
If he is a bit rough with you etc... you could have gotten a tiny cut or something. That would sting i'm guessing.
Good for you for going to the doctors about it. I'm sure the doctor will shed some light on the situation.
