I find it difficult to accept social company of most type of conventional people around. I know that people consider me arrogant for this very reason but i can't be like some of those double standard people who are valued in society. I don't mind if i am not able to fit in due to this reason but expect others to understand me better and acknowledge the fact that not everyone wants to be like them. Please advice.

Part of getting along in the world, is to understand if you want to be understood, to accept if you want to be accepted, and to not judge others especially if they are less intelligent than you and try not to expect those types to understand you better when they do not have the ability or the capacity to do so....in that instance, if it is worth your time, you need to express what it is you want them to understand about you, and their acceptance of you is not something that you can demand or expect.

Some people have a narrow view of the world and hence the double standard, you don't have to think that way in order to be in their presence, but you also don't have to engage in conversation with them about subjects that you will never agree upon.

I don't get how you can tell for sure if two people are pretending to be together when they have not real feeling for each other, unless you are 100% psychic.

dragonette agony auntNobody likes being underestimated or looked down upon based on superficial things like salary, clothes, or cars. This unfortunately happens to everyone because people instantly make an impression of another person based on what they know about them, and at the beginning it's just superficial things.

Rest assured that even if you were a multi billionaire dressed in Armani suits and a CEO of a successful company, there would still be plenty of people who would underestimate you and think that your brain has become dull from all the wealth.

But if you want to avoid being underestimated based on your salary you shouldn't let people know how much you're making. In a lot of countries it's actually downright rude to ask and the question can be avoided by answering "enough" or "why are you so keen on knowing?".

But I'll agree with you, there's a lot of things in our society that are annoying, stupid, frustrating. You will live a better life if you try to look for the good parts, because changing human behavior is a giant task.

And I'll admit it: I thought the guy who made my cappuccino at George's Coffee this morning looked like a primate and I was wondering if this job wasn't a little bit above his capabilities. So I guess that even if I'm annoyed about how other people are prejudiced, I'm not that much better myself.

As an example, i don't like people who would underestimate me based on my current job, salary etc. And i don't like people pretending to be together when they genuinely don't feel for each other.

dragonette agony auntIn what way do you expect people to acknowledge that they understand that not everybody wants to be like them? Please update your question with some info, because, whereas it's an interesting question, it's very unclear. I think I might know what you're getting at, but my answer may be totally off due to the lack of information.

Everybody can't be your friend, there will always be people who will not respect you, especially if you're at one of the extreme ends of any scale (be it political, actual weight, sexuality, meat vs vegetables, whatever).

The best thing you can do is find friends whom you like to be with, they will make you strong enough not to care too much about the "normal" people who don't understand you.
