our relationship is only nine months but so far so good .

 Go with what you gut tells you to do. You said your uncomfortable and your bothered with his age. Do not force yourself into trying to feel something for a person that you cant feel anything for. Let him know how you feel. Tell him you see him as a friend and as a friend only. Dont obligate yourself into doing something with someone you dont have strong feelings for in that intimate way. If he is truly your friend then he would understand.
