Is it bad if i can't tell my mom anything?

Like i live with my mom but not my dad, and I barely see him and i feel more comfortable talking to him about stuff but i don't feel comfortable talking to my mom about stuff.

is that a problem?

A female reader, TasteofIndia United States +, writes (26 January 2011):

TasteofIndia agony auntI don't think it's a problem, as long as you feel comfortable talking to someone! Most people feel oppositely (feel weird talking to their Dads and they tell their Mom everything) and nobody bats and eyelash. You are totally normal!

Make a little bit of an effort with your Mom, though. Sometimes just trying to talk, even though it feels awkward and weird can mean a lot. It doesn't mean she needs to be your ultimate confidant, but it might put her at ease that you're not completely blocking her out of your life. Good luck, sweet!!
