A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

hello, i'm 20 and i have been with my boyfriend for 2 an a half years.

A few weeks ago i went clubbing with 3 friends, one of which is my friend that i used to fancy when i was about 12 an i liked him for 4 years which he always new about.

anyway i got very drunk on this night out and ended up telling him that i will always have feelings for him. an he likes me too an has done for a about 6 months which i have known about.

now i feel racked with guilt for A leading him on and B saying that when i have a boyfriend. (especially because i said to my boyfriend that there is nothing between us we are just friends (when i knew that he likes me)

I did tell this boy that i cant risk what I have with my boyfriend so he knows i wont break up with him.

but he now thinks i really like him..

i feel so guilty i dont know what to do?

i do care about him an have some feelings for him but they are nothing compared to what i feel for my boyfriend! i wouldnt want to go out with this boy or anything.

what shall i do? :( i feel like such a horrible person! (please dont make me feel worse than i already do) :(

angelDlite agony auntjust avoid him for the time being if you can. don't mention liking him again. if he tries to bring it up, change the subject. if he presses the issue further just be honest and and tell him that yes you did used to like him but you have now moved on from that and are happy with your boyfriend, you were just feeling over emotional coz you were drunk

gigolojone agony auntSimple, call him up and tell him that all that was said during that night in the Club wasn't you but the influence of alcohol. Also let him know there is someone special in your life and there ain't any plans of leaving him.

Try and be polite enough. Truth hurts but does set you free.
