I tend to easily believe someone, as my shutter of brain is down when I talk with people. I can't separate truth from deception and lie. I also constantly try to protect myself from the outside world as if it was not real. I don't understand why do I think or behave this way. Any advice? Reply to this Question Share |

Feelings of unreality, disassociation and detatchment like this can be a symptom of psychotic illness; from what you describe it sounds to me like you may be suffering from some sort of psychosis(I am no expert but have spent enough time in mental hospital to know what psychosis looks like! lol) don't be scared, its not as bad as it sounds! It doesnt mean you're 'mad' or 'insane', it's an illness just like any other. Talk to your GP about it, it's likely that these feelings can be controlled with medication if he/she thinks you need it. It's important that you do seek help now rather than later, if you are ill you need treatment to make sure you don't get any worse, prevention is better than cure as they say. Good luck, take care

I suggest you find some help with a mental health professional. I don't know where you go to learn common sense about other people. Most of us try to get as wide a range of experiences under our belts when we are young, so that we have a pretty good lie detector betwen our ears. I tell how and when someone is lying or not to me, but using the smell test. If it smells fishy, and its not a fish, its probably a lie! If you have been burned by liars before, your radar should be getting better and better, and not worse. Get some help.
