Hi I'm 18 and I really fancy this girl in my school (she's 16 in year below). I asked her out a few months ago and she said she wasn't looking to date anyone yet. She knows me slightly and I can't stop thinking about her even though things probably will never happen between us. I'm too nervous to talk to her and ask to be friends even though she's a really nice person. What should I do?

Well, the only advice I can give you is that you need to get to know her. Be a friend. Find out what she likes and talk to her. Let it grow slowly and then tell her how you feel. :)

You don't need to ask to be friends with someone. You just are or you aren't. Depending on how sincere you are, also allows you to get closer to the person. If you AND her feels a spark, then maybe things can happen from that. Otherwise, you can't force someone to like you.

I think sincerity is a big thing. How do you become friends with other people, is how you become friends with her. Remember - NO ulterior motives.
