Not a word.So my plan kind of backfired.I wanted him to text me or ring me fighting for me, begging for me back, but as of yet, there's nothing.Does this mean that he never really cared?Or do you think he will come around and beg for me back in a couple of days when it hits him? Or... do you think he's playing a game and he's planning to wait a couple of days because he thinks I'll come running telling him what a mistake I made? Please help me shed some light on this situation x

No, I think he didn't really care and you needed to get rid of him anyway. Though please don't ever do it by text again, as it makes you no better than him. There will be another guy out there who will care for you more, and not ignore you. Let this one go.

When you dump someone by text or email it just show contempt and how little you actually care ( in my personal opinion).
I'm guessing he thinks you never really gave a crap if you aren't even grown up enough to tell him either face to face or over the phone.
Just my 2 Cents.
