writes:im 17 and i havnt had a proper bf before. ive had one lousy kiss. no lad has ever called me pretty/cute/beautiful etc. i leave for university next year. i have no prospects for a bf before then but i really really dont want to turn up at uni an inexperienced virgin. cos i just know everyone else will have done everything already. all of my friends have lost their virginity and have boyfriends. i really hate it but im not sure if im confident enough to do anything about it. :(

 I was just the exact same as you when I left for college, but let me tell you, when you go to college you will meet all kinds of like minded people and open new doorways for you, and besides Lu is right your virginity is a very special thing, once it is gone its gone, you shouldn't plan to get rid of it, it should be a reasoning in your being, that you are going to give your self to a very special person, as it will be an event you will remember for life, make sure its a good one!:)

 Trust me your virginity is a very precious thing you do not want to lose it to some guy just so your not a virgin at Uni. Loads of people are virgins at uni and people respect people for being virgins as it means they are careful and do not rush into things. Just be comfortable with who you are and do not worry about what other people think

reader, anonymous, writes (20 October 2008): Loads of girls are virgins when they go to uni, as are a lot of guys too! Focus on your education at this point and wait till you meet someone you really click with at uni to loose your virginity with!
Dont waste something that special on someone you dont wanna be with just to "get it over with", Im speaking from experience, and I regret it!

Lots of girls turn up to uni as virgins.
Just be careful not to give it away to the first boy you meet there as there will be PLENTY of opportunity there.
Go to uni and have fun, sex should be the last thing you have to worry about.
