I don't know what to make of the gift I got from a friend?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This guy and I aren't friends and we aren't dating.. It's like that phase inbetween the two. For Christmas, I wasn't planning on getting him a present, but he told me he got something, so I got something for him. My gift for him was a Chinese red envelope (I'm Chinese) filled with money, and I folded an origami Pikachu for him that could fit inside of an origami heart's pocket. I received the present from him after Christmas because he was i Poland, visiting his family over there. I opened the box during class and found inside it, a large amethyst pendant on a black cord. I really appreciate the gift and the beauty of the crystal. I'll rarely wear it as a necklace.. But, I don't know what to make of it? It's not exactly a typical 'friends' kind of gift, and not very romantic either. I don't want to insult him by asking, so... What does this gift mean, and what should I do with the necklace now?

CindyCares agony aunt Gemstones are always romantic :). I think he must like you as more than a friend...

If you don't wear it as a necklace ( but why not ) keep it as a talisman in your purse or on your night stand.

Supposedly, amethyst's metaphysical properties are protection from negative energies, bringing contentment and peace of mind, inducing quiet sleep and good dreams, and ...preventing excesses ( and hangovers ) in drinking.

See if it works....
