like the many women before me, i will say it is something that can happen and that it is normal. wiki can explain it better- just know that your hymen is pretty much your cherry in a nutshell. now, the question is, why did you put yourself under as male? O.o

I don't think not bleeding on your first sexual encounter is as big of an issue as to why you would feel the need to turn to sex for answers and validation. 14 years; you are but a young girl and can not comprehend fully what such an intimate action involves to make such a responsible ladden decision.

I hope you do listen to the advice of re-assessing your decision of being sexually active at such a young age.

If you continue to be sexually active then yes, use all necessary precautions. It is easy for this young man to have sex with you as he believes that should you get pregnant; it is your responsibility and all he has to do is walk away.

Take care of yourself-love yourself first.

*hugs*

Hi there, I don't think bleeding is what you should be worrying about, you should be thinking about why you are having sex at such an early age!!! I can only hope that you were sensible and used precautions, even if you have been with your BF for a year, you have so much time ahead of you for all of that. Trust me picking up an STD or becoming pregnant is no fun at an early age. Be careful, having fun and loving someone does not have to involve sex. Take care.

A female reader, juliagulia United Kingdom +, writes (15 March 2006):

juliagulia agony auntIt isn't necessarily true that you bleed on your first time. When you bleed, it is because you have broken your hymen - it is a small piece of tissue inside of you. You may have broken it when you were younger and didn't realize it. Lots of things can do it - riding a horse, a tampon, a finger, etc. Not to mention, it may be that for some reason, yours did not break this time, but will another time in the future. It is nothing to worry about. Just make sure you use protection -- 14 is way too young for a baby!! Be careful and good luck!
